Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Moasure’s accuracy
Moasure 2 PRO has a measurement error of ± 0.3% on any single linear dimension.
A measuring tape's error typically varies between ± 0.011% to ± 0.03% whilst a measuring wheel's error can vary between ± 0.5% to ± 5%.
Moasure also captures your crucial site data as a 3D diagram – exportable to PDF and CAD.
There's no fixed limit to the distance you can measure with Moasure.
Instead, there's a limit determined by the available memory on your smartphone or tablet.
As this varies across phones and tablets, we quote a 'safe' maximum distance of 1000ft and a maximum area of 100,000 sq. ft. to remain well within the memory limit of most smartphones.
For measurements larger than this, we recommend breaking up the measurement into a series of smaller measurements.
Some customers have measured distances of 2,500ft and areas of more than 269,000 sq. ft. in one measurement.
Moasure easily handles uneven terrain to accurately measure on various surfaces. All that's required is for your Moasure to remain stationary for a brief moment to capture the point.
No - your Moasure does not need any calibration or servicing to maintain accuracy and it does not degrade over time.
No, we can not improve the accuracy of a Moasure device through software alone.
The accuracy of each Moasure model is defined by the Inertial Sensor Engine inside. This is made up of the inertial measurement units and our proprietary algorithms.
The algorithms within our most powerful X2-PRO Inertial Sensor Engine can only work with the more powerful inertial measurement units found inside Moasure 2 PRO.
The biggest influencing factor of Moasure's accuracy is your technique. That's why we recommend practising with your device outdoors before taking it out on jobs.
We have lots of in-depth user guides, webinars and videos to get you started. Plus, our customer support team and wider Moasure community are here to help you every step of the way.
Yes - Moasure's 'Ignore Point' feature allows you to simply walk around obstacles and continue measuring as normal.
